This is the dogs favorite flower. My dog can eat Hibiscus flowers all day long. Luckily this plant is prolific enough to flower almost all year.
The hibiscus plant that this yellow flower comes from is three feet wide 8 feet tall and about 10 feet long. I am getting ready to prune it back and attempt to shape it into a covered living "patio" area. (almost like a cresting wave) I started on this last year and it takes more maintenance than I like to put into a silly project. This plant has grown so much since its last pruning that this pruning will have to be a drastic hack job.

It's gorgeous! No wonder your dog likes it so much..
i absolutely love these plants. they are so tropical in their floral gifts, and the scent is subtle, not overwhelming like gardanias. at one house where i drew up, there were hibiscus plants just outside my window. every day felt like waking up in bali.
They are so tropical. Last year the hibiscus flower was everywhere in popular culture.
I started to think that all cars came from the factory with a hibiscus window decal. Over the last few years we have had a terrible battle with giant white flys in this area. Many people were forced to tear out their hibiscus plants. I think the battle is over.
