Tomato- olive oil- summer pizza

They opened a new market in my neighborhood. As a result they had very large and extremely ripe tomatoes on the vine at great grand opening prices. The other night I took three tomatoes sliced them into large chunks poured olive oil and Italian seasoning herbs over them and let them sit for about an hour. Then I used them on my pizza in place of pizza sauce.

I placed them under the cheese. But, I kept wondering if it would of been better to bake them on top of the cheese. Any ideas?
