Dipping things in ketchup
I am still working on the whole limited vocabulary
thing with my 2 year old. Grandpa taught him “Dip Dip”. As usual this new word deals with an arm movement. As I posted before any word he learns must come with body movements. (link)
We have found advantages with this new word. Eating food. He really enjoys saying “dip dip” while dipping food into his ketchup. Last night at dinner we were able to get him to eat baked carrots and other foods that he has been shunning lately. He would look at his food with great dissatisfaction and we would chime in with a “dip dip.” He would smile and pick up some food and say “dip dip” while dipping and eating his food.
But then near the end of dinner it started to fall apart. He decided to cut out the food and started to spoon large amounts of ketchup into his mouth. If this continues I will have to look into salt free ketchup.
