Quiz
Quiz off the top of your head-
How many victims of September 11th can you name?
How Many dead U.S. Service men and women that served in Iraq can you name?
37? That is more than I can name. I can name about 10 from 9/11. With all the life storys and specials some names are burned into my brain. As for the war only 3 names stand out. All three were shown in the media often. The others in the war I never even saw thier name in print. I think the whole thing is sad.
The sad reality is that it doesn't matter if it is a "popular" war or not, the names of those who are lot are forgotten.
They are not forgotten by their loved ones, but they generally are not people that we remember for long. They become a bunch of nameless faces.
It is not out of disrespect, but just how things are. I don't think that we can hold onto the names of too many dead, we are just not programmed that way.
I am not expressing myself well, but I can't think of anything better.

The media is ignoring the dead in Iraq. We let them. Yet, every one that that died in new york got pages of info in the paper.
The LA Times runs articles every week about the KIA from out here.
