The more I look at this sign the more it bothers me. It seems that they are implying that the fact children are fingerprinted it will help save children from predators. All the finger printing of children does is help identify the child after something bad has happened.

i don't have a child, so i cannot relate on the same level that you do regarding child-safety. even with my nephew, i can only worry so much about his safety (and will go to great length to make sure he has a happy childhood).
i am against any sort of national registry system -- as it is, the social security system has failed us in so many ways regarding identity theft -- but, ironically, i am pro-implant of tracking chips. i'm not in a state that i can get into this opinion deeper - perhaps more later.
I would like to hear your argument. Perhaps it will pop up on your blog at some point.
