California Stop
The bright red stop sign stands proudly on the corner. The motorists glide past it never stopping.
When tutoring the verbal section of the SAT I make the kids create flashcards with pictures and a sentence using their new vocab words. In October one of my students drew a picture of a guy giving the finger out the driver's side window accompanied by the sentence, "As usual, I drove through the new stop sign with such alacrity that my mom would totally ground me if she ever knew."
