Reading

Phil Lesh's book Searching for the Sound (my life with the Grateful Dead) arrived at my doorstep the other day. I am enjoying it greatly. It is fairly obvious how it will end , but I am fascinated by his version of all that happened.
All other reading has been put on hold until it is finished.

Lesh has always struck me as the most intelligent and well spoken of the band; I've always suspected his recollections were more trustworthy than Mickey Hart's or Bob Weir's (although theirs are often more funny). I didn't even know he had a book out; think I might check it out myself.

Phil is a very intelligent man. This is the first time I have really seen anything in print that was from his view. The book so far is very good. I would guess that this book was dictated and it reads as if he is talking rather than writing. The book just came out. One can buy it from Powells . com with a free CD.
