Our street

Last night as we were tucking Mquest Jr. into bed he pointed out the window and said: “Look fire truck.” Out the door we went just in time to see a ambulance race up the street. Mquest Jr. was so excited to see all the rescue vehicles parked on our street.

Sadly I think one of my neighbors passed away last light. The fire truck and ambulance left and a police car stayed out front for several hours. One would think the coroner would show up a little faster than that. It seems like a waste to have a cop watch the house of a dead person for half the night while waiting for the coroner to show up. It also seems rather rude to leave the family alone with a corpse while the police shoot the shit outside. I have no idea how long it took to remove him from the house. When I went to bed three hours later the coroner still had not arrived.

My neighbor had been in terrible shape for the last 7 months. Parkinson's and Alzheimer's had destroyed his body and mind . . .
