A point for you to ponder-
All I said was “my son is chasing the dog with a spoon.” My wife started laughing hysterically? Can any one explain why this was so funny?

It's funny because I've seen the pictures, and your son is absolutely adorable! The question is, why wouldn't he chase the dog with a spoon?
I must admit it was rather cute. But, I think a fork would have been pure comedy.
